Positive Meaning of more Cards | the Law of Attraction
This Tarot Card Mini Class has been provided to you by "Portland Tarot Readings". In this post I would like to discuss some controversial tarot cards, such as the II of Swords, the IX of Swords and the X of Swords. These cards have usually most often been seen as quite negative and intimidating. I would like to introduce a new concept of how to look at these vital cards with the purpose of giving them a more realistic and neutral meaning, minimizing the negative and scary feelings they may emanate and so changing the perception about them, if you find them in your reading spread,. Looking at them it is not easy to have a positive expectation, since on the surface, clearly they look pretty cruel and gloomy! All the same, I would like to encourage you to have a deeper second look!! Lets start by reading the IX of Swords: As you can see from the above photo, it shows you a very sad image of a young person in deep distress and despair, who looks as if he/she is crying and worrying about something which is causing pain and suffering. By looking at it, you have a sense that the circumstances, whatever they might be, must to be hopeless, with no solution, causing fear, lack of inner peace, maybe regret and sleepless nights. The swords collection on the wall is supposed to add and intensify the distressed picture of this reality. However, when this card appears in your reading, what it is really trying to tell you is that you have a clear tendency toward self judgement, a tendency of doubting your values, of torturing yourself even when it is not necessary, of being too hard on yourself and making yourself sick over non significant details, and as a result you feel overwhelmed with regret and guilt. This card's true purpose has a more positive meaning in the sense that it is trying to actually release you from the almost imaginary fears, worries you are experiencing, from self judgement, doubts and regret, inspiring you, instead to find a solution by looking below the surface of what reality may look like, it nudges you toward looking at things in a newer perspective, and above all it encourages you to let go of distorted perceptions of reality, of false limiting beliefs, and look deeper and be more objective. Furthermore, it is a reminder of your own power in molding your reality, and the power of your beliefs, which, according to the Law of Attraction, have a most powerful role in shifting and creating your reality. In a way, the only negative aspect of this card is the fact it reminds you that, unless you let go of these tendencies to see the negative where there is none, to torture yourself and to entertain a distorted perception of the truth, you might end putting negative energy in something that does not exist yet, creating the vibration of something negative, and attracting, in the end, the very things you worry about.
The II of Swords is other card which has a controversial meaning and which has a less negative outlook if explored below the surface. Looking at the image, this card does not inspire any cheerful or positive feeling. There is a young lady sitting blindfolded on a chair, as if she were stuck, not able to see what is behind her, and holding in both hands two very heavy swords. The immediate message you get is that of being powerless, unable to take a decision or to act and a sense of feeling really stuck. There is almost a fear of removing the blindfold to avoid facing the cruel, terrible reality all around. On the other hand, when you look behind the obvious interpretation it has a much more profound and enlightening message. It is asking you this question: What are you trying to resist?
It is telling you that yes. you may be experiencing frustration, you may be feeling really stuck, you may be feeling in lack of resources, but that whatever your desire is, you are the one who is blocking its realization. It is letting you know that you may be the real enemy, that your problem does not come from outside yourself, from others. By refusing to acknowledge and feel certain important emotions, such as maybe grief and pain over a past loss, or fear of abandonment and loneliness, you have created barriers and emotional blocks within yourself, These internal barriers produce resistance, which is the very obstacle, the very thing that is responsible for delay and inability to move forward. It wants you to know that there is a solution to your problems and it comes from within. It encourages you embrace all your emotions with love, to feel whatever is that you are feeling, to enhance these feelings. Maybe is love for someone, maybe is fear to love, maybe is pain over an important loss, or resisting a change that is needed for your best. Whatever this emotion you refuse to feel is, you should unblock it and accept it fully, and not be afraid of feeling the way you feel. Only in that way it will leave you. This card reassures you that it is SAFE to feel. The most important message though is the encouragement to let go, surrender and trust that everything will be OK. It is really a call for surrendering and trust the Higher Source that all is good, and that the solution is on the way. By surrendering you will finally let go of the resistance that is blocking the Universe giving you all the help you need. The third card I will bring up in this post is the X of Swords. This card also holds a different meaning when considered from a deeper angle. The image clearly suggests a very cruel circumstance. There is man, lying powerlessly on the ground, on his stomach, his entire body pierced by ten mighty swords.
It may look as if he might be dead, however even if it seems that there is no life left in his body, he is not quite gone yet, he is still alive and surviving, even if in terrible pain. Now lets take a deeper look and see what this card really is about: This card on one hand, is acknowledging the fact that you might be suffering and must have been going through a very painful and tough time, for a while and that the situation has been almost unbearable leaving you in a state where you might be feeling that you cannot take it anymore, as if you do not have any strength left to do any thing. So it empathizes with how you feel and negative situation you are in. On the other hand, the X of Swords is trying to lift your mood and cheer you up. It is bringing you the reassurance that you are now at the end of a karmic cycle, at the end of the negative cycle, and that your past obligations, are now concluded. There is no life left in the present situation, and the final positive conclusion is at hand. And since you are now at the lowest point, there is nowhere for you to go but upward, you have reached the point where things will definitely start to look up. And so it discourages you to self pity, to be negative and self deprecating or to stay stuck in a victim's state of mind, and it rather encourages you to prepare to enter this upturn in your life, because you definitely deserve it! So Lighten up and enjoy the next show!! In my Blog's next post I will discuss the following cards: III of Swords, the V of Pentacles, and the VIII of Swords, which also at a superficial look seem to be very dreary and negative, but check out my blog soon and you will see that things not always are what the look like!!! |
